MySpace banning widgets
MySpace just got a lot less messy (BGSL), reports the New York Times. Jeff Jarvis summarises Rupert's latest strategic error: "MySpace isn’t my space at all but Rupert’s Space and that that is its weakness."
Another successful digital business takes a step backwards from TBL's ur-innovation of open-architecture read/write functionality. It'll make MySpace simpler; but cleaner, and that's a bad direction for a site that scaled on the back of teenage self-expression and territoriality.

Beloved Foxy Sparkle
I would have tipped the hat to you had you first brought the news to my attention, but Jeff Jarvis did so as you see above I tip instead the hat to him.
