The British government is apparently stupid enough to consider a two-speed Internet a good idea, where ISPs could slow down traffic to websites that haven't paid them a special premium. (Trust the government to come up with such a loathsome scheme - it sounds eerily like the system under which people who voted for them at the last election get a better quality of public services.)
So here's a little challenge - ISPs, tell us you won't do it. Talktalk has the best record of coming out in favour of its customers' interests in the face of ludicrous suggestions from the state - see eg dontdisconnect.us. BT also has a strong record of fighting alongside Talktalk against the Digital Economy Act - how about you guys? If one ISP refuses to play, the whole thing falls down. So this is the time to prove you mean it. Let's see one of you really stand our corner on this one.
